Amtrak New Features Video

When Amtrak sought to inform customers about new features in their mobile app, I proposed an alternative to a standard email: a short, engaging video presentation. I pitched the concept directly to Amtrak’s senior leadership, emphasizing its potential to more effectively communicate the updates. The idea was well received, and they allocated budget accordingly, allowing us to move forward with production.

Collaborating closely with the client and utilizing our in-house animation capabilities, I developed a custom illustration style and a cohesive design system for the video series. I also created keyframe designs that served as the foundation for the animation, helping to visually narrate the story of the app’s new features.

The final video was not only distributed digitally but also adapted for vertical screens to be displayed at train station kiosks nationwide.

Screen Transitions

I worked closely with the Amtrak creative leadership to establish a full storyboard before we started animating any assets. This included creating specific screens that would illustrate to them how each screen transition is intended to tale place. This really helped them visualize and see what the final video would look like, greatly reducing their feedback during production.
